Root Canal Treatment (RCT) Instructions – Arch Dental

At Arch Dental, we ensure your root canal treatment is comfortable and effective. Please follow these instructions for a smooth recovery:

Before the Treatment

  • Eat a light meal before your appointment unless advised otherwise.
  • Take prescribed medications (if any) as instructed by your dentist.
  • Inform the dentist about any medical conditions or allergies.

After the Treatment

  • Avoid eating until the numbness wears off (usually 2–3 hours).
  • Mild pain or discomfort is normal for a few days—take prescribed painkillers if needed.
  • Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until the final crown is placed.
  • Maintain good oral hygiene—brush gently and floss regularly.

Temporary Filling Care

  • A temporary filling may be placed—avoid sticky or hard foods.
  • If the filling comes out, contact Arch Dental immediately.

Follow-Up Visit

  • Do not skip your follow-up appointment for permanent filling or crown placement.
  • A crown is important to protect the treated tooth from fracture.
