Root Canal Treatment (RCT) Instructions – Arch Dental
At Arch Dental, we ensure your root canal treatment is comfortable and effective. Please follow these instructions for a smooth recovery:
Before the Treatment
- Eat a light meal before your appointment unless advised otherwise.
- Take prescribed medications (if any) as instructed by your dentist.
- Inform the dentist about any medical conditions or allergies.
After the Treatment
- Avoid eating until the numbness wears off (usually 2–3 hours).
- Mild pain or discomfort is normal for a few days—take prescribed painkillers if needed.
- Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until the final crown is placed.
- Maintain good oral hygiene—brush gently and floss regularly.
Temporary Filling Care
- A temporary filling may be placed—avoid sticky or hard foods.
- If the filling comes out, contact Arch Dental immediately.
Follow-Up Visit
- Do not skip your follow-up appointment for permanent filling or crown placement.
- A crown is important to protect the treated tooth from fracture.
When to Contact Us
- Severe pain or swelling
- Allergic reaction to medications
- Persistent discomfort beyond a few days
